What is the GKBook Encyclopedia?
It is GKBook’s library of world knowledge, A to Z: the flags of every country, the sciences, places, people, phobias and much else, each subject on a page of its own — written plainly, checked carefully, and open to everyone.
Is the Encyclopedia the same as the exam material?
No. The Encyclopedia is general knowledge for anyone who is curious. The exam-grade study library and its timed tests are a separate wing for members, at ₹995 a year; you do not need membership to read the Encyclopedia.
How is the Encyclopedia organised?
By subject. Some subjects are families with a page for each member — World Flags has an A-to-Z index and one page per country, with its history, colours and etiquette. Others are single entries, and new subjects join as they are written.
Is the Encyclopedia free to read?
Yes. Every Encyclopedia page is free, with no sign-in, on any device.
How do I find an entry?
Type the subject into the search bar at the top of any page — press / or Cmd-K to jump there — or start from the entries on this page. Try "world flags", "solar system" or "köppen climates".
